BROOKLYN, NY (RELEASE January 29, 2013) — Bunnycutlet Gallery is pleased to present Printmouse, a group exhibition featuring new silkscreen prints by 23 artists employed at Titmouse, Inc.

Titmouse is an animation studio based in LA and NYC. They develop and produce animated television programming, feature films, music videos, title sequences, commercials and short films. Productions include The Venture Bros, Metalocalypse, China, IL, Superjail!, and Black Dynamite for Adult Swim, Motorcity and Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja for Disney XD, and the animated episodes of Community for NBC.

In this exhibition, 23 Titmice come together to share their artistic point of view with silkscreen print editions. While their sensibilities vary, they are all commonly influenced by animation, illustration, comic art, and pop culture. Subjects that range from the whimsical to the macabre are explored brilliantly by these talented applied artists, making for an exuberant and multifaceted print-art show.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Edward Artinian is a Los Angeles based artist and 20 year veteran of the animation industry. Edward has been an animator at Titmouse for over 4 years, working on the TV series Metalocalypse, Motorcity, and he is currently an animator on the series China, IL. His fine art work is influenced by pop culture, comics and anime.

Liz Artinian is a NYC based painter and longtime animation artist. For Titmouse, Liz is a background painter on the series Metalocalypse, and the color supervisor on the series The Venture Bros. Liz is the owner of Bunnycutlet Gallery, founded in November of 2012 to support the fine art workds of animation and illustration artists.

Keith Conroy is a NYC based animation background designer with 15 years of experience in the industry. For Titmouse, Keith designed backgrounds for the 5th season of the Adult Swim animated series Metalocalypse.

Sachio Cook is a NYC based character animator at Titmouse, Inc. Sachio’s fine art work is inspired by the differences between American and Japanese cultures.

Zan Czyzewski is an assistant animator at Titmouse, NYC. Zan is an avid fan of the fantasy and sci-fi genres and is particularly fond of the spirited, oft unusual creatures that inhabit these worlds. Since childhood she has been fascinated by animals, imaginary and of our natural world, and finds herself constantly incorporating them into her art. Zan’s limited edition silkscreen print for Printmouse is inspired by traditional Indian designs with subtle stylistic and thematic influences from the film adaptation of Watership Down.

Chrissy Fellmeth is an artist and animator in Brooklyn, New York. Chrissy has worked for Titmouse on various projects, including the animated series Metalocalypse, Superjail!, and China, IL. Her fine art work is bright, direct, and playful.

Niko Guardia is a painter and illustrator living in Brooklyn, NY. Niko works at Titmouse as an animation assistant on the TV series Motorcity, Superjail!, and China, IL. His fine art work explores a modern and sometimes political takes on pulp art.

Garrett Hagen is an animation cleanup artist at Titmouse in NYC. His work for Printmouse plays with the visual style of old, often xerox made, band flier art.

Joe Jurewicz is a talented designer and character layout artist on the animated series “Superjail!” Joe's fine art work combines a graphic style with cartoonish influences.

Chrissy Fellmeth is an artist and animator in Brooklyn, New York. Chrissy has worked for Titmouse on various projects, including the animated series Metalocalypse, Superjail!, and China, IL. Her fine art work is bright, direct, and playful.

Shay Lurie is a Titmouse NYC character and prop designer for the Adult Swim animated series Superjail!, Metalocalypse, and The Venture Brothers. Shay’s fine art work is influenced by cult fantasy films, 80’s cartoons, and comics.

KJ Martinet is a NYC comic artist and print-maker, and recently an animation clean up artist at Titmouse, Inc. KJ’s fine art prints have subtle narratives, often making use of the visual relationship between repetition, change, and cycles.

Diego Molano is a a Cuban American artist from Miami, currently animating and designing for Titmouse LA. His fine art work is influenced by comics, pop culture, and an intense obsession with bears.

Carly Monardo is a multi-talented artist who busies herself with game design, animation, and illustration projects for a variety of clients, contributing her talents to the animated series The Venture Brothers season 5 for Titmouse NYC. Her silkscreen print for Printmouse, called “Too Much Coffee,” a playful mix of cartoon aesthetics and macabre images.

Shay Lurie is an artist formally working as an animation director at Titmouse, Inc, and currently residing in San Francisco. His limited edition silkscreen prints for Printmouse are inspired by the paintings of Robert Rauschenberg, incorporating manipulated images of hot rods and other vintage photos.

Dana Muise is a Titmouse NYC character and prop designer for the Adult Swim animated series Superjail!, Metalocalypse, and The Venture Brothers. Shay’s fine art work is influenced by cult fantasy films, 80’s cartoons, and comics.

Douglas Einar Olsen is a multi-media artist and designer in NYC. As an animation artist, Douglas has worked for Titmouse as a background designer and storyboard revisionist on the Adult Swim series The Venture Bros, and recently as a background designer at Augenblick Studios, Inc. He is a founding member of an experimental artist group called Wunderkrafthause, and his fine art work often examines the relationship between humans and technology.

Gabriel Pinto is a New York City artist who currently works full time in the animation industry. His Titmouse animation credits include Motorcity, Superjail!, and The Venture Bros. Gabriel is currently working as a Cleanup Artist on the animated series China, IL. His fine art combines the iconic aesthetics of classic animation and comics with modern and pop culture themes.

Kayla Reid is an artist and animation production manager who is an integral part of all things Titmouse-NYC. Kayla’s fine art work is the product of unchecked imagination; chimerical, fantastical, and highly detailed.

Anneli Strassler is an animation clean-up supervisor at Titmouse NYC, recently credited with working on the series Motorcity and China, IL. Anneli’s fine art work combines the sensual with the macabre, twisting her female subjects in bizarre and evocative ways.

Mark Taihei is an LA based artist who was recently employed as a background artist on the animated series Motorcity. Raised by his traditional Japanese parents, Mark has been drawn to both Western and Eastern pop culture imagery from an early age. Here is a sneak peak of his limited edition silkscreen print, inspired by his need to understand the inner mechanics of the comic book character Doraemon, a time traveling robot cat from the future.

Edwin Vazquez is a New York based illustrator and muralist. Edwin’s work is inspired by the urban settings of NYC.

Corwin Herse Woo was a background painter on Season 5 of The Venture Bros at Titmouse NYC, and currently he is a concept artist at LucasArts in California. Cowin’s fine art work reflects his incredible sensibility as a concept artist, telling imaginative stories without illustrating them in a literal way. His paintings and designs are about drama, color, and mystery

Smo is a NYC based animator who has worked on Superjail, Metalocalypse, and China, IL at Titmouse NYC. Smo’s fine art work often incorporates pop culture iconography as well as, in the artist’s own words, “adventure and the all mighty rock and roll.”
